Mendocino County Jail bookings: Tuesday, May 13, 2025

SHERIFF’S REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office:

THEFT WITH PRIORS: Bruce E. Cartwright Jr., 32, of Willits, was booked at county jail May 7 on suspicion of petty theft with priors, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and violating his probation. He was arrested by the Ukiah Police Department.

    DUI: Benjamin S. Rau, 48, of Potter Valley, was booked at county jail May 7 on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, evading and violating his probation. He was arrested by the California Highway Patrol.

    ARSON: Pal Laughingbrook, 48, of Covelo, was booked at county jail May 8 on suspicion of arson and resisting/deterring. He was arrested by the MCSO.

    POSSESSION WITH PRIORS: Jonathan E. House, 42, of Fort Bragg, was booked at county jail May 9 on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance with priors, possessing drug paraphernalia and violating his probation. He was arrested by the MCSO.

    POSSESSION WITH PRIORS: Keegan S. Knight, 34, of Ukiah, was booked at county jail May 9 on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance with priors, possessing drug paraphernalia and possession of a switchblade in a vehicle. He was arrested by the Willits Police Department.

    ROBBERY: Jose F. Plascencia, 24, of Fort Bragg, was booked at county jail May 9 on suspicion of robbery, burglary, conspiracy and battery. He was arrested by the Fort Bragg Police Department.

    RESISTING: Thomas A. Thorson, 40, of Nice, was booked at county jail May 9 on suspicion of resisting/delaying an officer, battery on a first responder, carelessly starting a fire and violating his probation. He was arrested by the MCSO.

    DUI: Santana C. Garcia, 24, of Ukiah, was booked at county jail May 10 on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested by the CHP.

    DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Pete M. Gonzales, 23, of Ukiah, was booked at county jail May 10 on suspicion of domestic violence, false imprisonment and violating his county parole. He was arrested by the FBPD.

    DUI: Gonzalo E. Valdovino Sadame, 28, of Redwood Valley, was booked at county jail May 10 on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested by the CHP.

    CARJACKING: Silas N. Young, 42, of Willits, was booked at county jail May 10 on suspicion of carjacking. He was arrested by the CHP.

    VANDALISM: Marcelino E. Anguiano, 45, of Ukiah, was booked at county jail May 11 on suspicion of felony vandalism. He was arrested by the MCSO.

    VANDALISM: Lorene M. Eichner, 51, of Ukiah, was booked at county jail May 11 on suspicion of felony vandalism. She was arrested by the MCSO.

    DUI: Jose Merino Baltazar, 20, of Ukiah, was booked at county jail May 11 on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested by the CHP.

    ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF FIREARM: Curtis G. Nelsen, 38, of Laytonville, was booked at county jail May 11 on suspicion of illegally possessing ammunition and a firearm. He was arrested by the MCSO.

    BURGLARY: Jordan J. Skellet, 22, of Ukiah, was booked at county jail May 11 on suspicion of burglary and felony vandalism. He was arrested by the MCSO.

    DRUG SALES: Kala D. Smith, 34, of Willits, was booked at county jail May 11 on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for sale, transporting a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance with priors, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested by the MCSO.

    Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper.
