Geraldo Perdomo has become one of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ top commodities.
His late-game heroics in Wednesday’s 4-3 win against the New York Mets were the latest example of that, driving in the go-ahead runs on a two-RBI single in the seventh inning before adding a sacrifice fly in the ninth.
Entering Thursday morning’s game against New York, Perdomo’s now pacing the team in RBIs (24), walks (21) and stolen bases (seven) across 30 games played. He’s slashing .267/.379/.429 with a .807 OPS.
The secret to his success and cool demeanor in critical situations? It might make you jump (or hop).

“It doesn’t matter. There’s no pressure. My blood is like a frog’s … cold,” Perdomo told MLB Network postgame. “That’s my blood. Friísimo.”
Whatever works.
