ESPN selects under-the-radar offseason priority for Jaguars

Among a variety of topics, Micahel DiRocco, who covers the Jacksonville Jaguars for ESPN, selected the team’s most “under-the-radar” offseason priority.

His selection? Fixing the safety position.

DiRocco noted that the Jaguars’ defense allowed 22 plays of at least 30 yards in 2024 and eight receptions of 50-plus yards.

In addition to those numbers, the Jacksonville pass defense ranked last in yards per pass attempt surrendered–showcasing both the efficiency and big play ability that opposing quarterbacks had against this secondary.

They also gave up the ninth-highest completion percentage and had the third-fewest interceptions.

Under contract at the safety position for the Jaguars in 2025 are Darnell Savage, Andrew Wingard, Daniel Thomas, and Antonio Johnson.

DiRocco would go on to say that Johnson “hasn’t improved” and added that Andre Cisco is “unlikely to return.”

If the Jaguars are going to add to the safety position in free agency, here are the top available options, according to PFF:

Jevon Holland Talanoa Hufanga Camryn Bynum Justin Reid
